Of all New York City’s great neighborhoods, none is more captivating than Chinatown. The colorful and lively streets offer rare opportunities to experience new foods, products and an endlessly fascinating culture. Join Chef Richard LaMarita for a day of learning, food, and fun including the following:

  • Tai Chi with Nabi Su Martial Arts
  • Mahayana Buddhist Temple

  • Vegetarian Dim Sum
  • Lin Sisters Herbs
  • Chinatown Ice Cream & Bubble Tea

The tour fee includes the Thai Chi, tea ceremony, and dim sum lunch.

*Students are to meet at 8:30 sharp at the Sara D Roosevelt Park. Please use the Canal Street intersection, between Chrystie & Forsyth. It is one block east of Bowery.

About the Instructor

Richard LaMarita is a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education and has been a Chef Instructor since 1986. He has worked in many popular restaurants in NYC, including Tabla. He has been practicing and studying Ayurveda for 30 years. He holds a Master's Degree from Maharishi Vedic University and has worked with accomplished Ayurvedic masters such as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Dr. B.D. TriGuna. He has led seminars on Ayurveda, Diet and Nutrition, Cooking, Yoga, and Meditation throughout the US, in Europe, and in Asia. Presently, he works as a private chef, and is a Chef Instructor at NGI.
